James knows all to well the trials and tribulations of the start-up and SME environment, as he has founded and co-founded a number of companies spanning a wide spectrum of industries such as nutraceuticals, professional healthcare and even liquor importing.
​
​
But he is also experienced in the corporate side of matters having served previously as Executive Director and CEO of SciGen Inc. (Singapore), Business Development Director of Bioton S.A. (Warsaw) and Novotek Pharmaceuticals (Beijing). Before that, he functioned at LG Life Sciences (Seoul; currently LG Chem) as part of corporate Business Development, Diagnostics Planning & Development, followed by Business Strategy.

James keeps his management skills sharp, currently serving the position of Director of Business Development at the Korean biotech startup (and EluciDx client BioSquare Inc.) (Seongnam, South Korea) while also serving as CTO of the nutraceutical company he co-founded, TKL Corporation (Seoul, South Korea) and also as the founder and CEO of the liquor importer Kwaerock Traders (Seongnam, South Korea).

Worth noting is the collaboration with CDT-Africa (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), a World Bank supported African Center of Excellence. EluciDx is advising CDT-Africa in fulfilling its mandate of advancing the Ethiopian and African healthcare industry by helping build endogenous capacity for pharmaceutical, vaccine and IVD R&D and production through human resource development programs and advising related government policies.

Most recently, James has joined the advisory board of the Estonian DTx startup Activate Health to guide the team through the complex landscape of regulated healthcare.
James also started another exciting new venture, Enable Nutrition Inc. (Vancouver, BC, Canada) in October 2022. The company aims to "enable nutraceutical brands with ingredient transparency and integrity to bring customers and producers closer together" by providing ingredient transparency to nutraceutical consumers and manufacturers.
